Or perhaps safer is the correct term. The only way to keep your child's photos 100% safe online is to not have then in a public space. But, you can help make them a little safer by disabling the right click on them. If you are interested please follow the directions found on this webpage. I did it and it was super easy! Just try to right click any of the photos on my blog! I even customized the error message that pops up when people try to right click my photos. How fun... right?? Anyways, here's the link. Let me know if you need any help!

Have a Bumbo for your little one? Please read...
Bumbo has issued a recall on their seats due to several reports of infant skull fractures. Here's a link to an informative article. It also includes the link to the Bumbo website where you can file a claim and get a safety strap sent to you to make your Bumbo safer (is this a real word??) for your little one(s).

Lets talk about Car seats
Waaaay before I found out that I was pregnant, I read a post written by Erin over at Growing a Foosa regarding car seat safety. It really got my brain juices flowing and now that I am pregnant I know exactly what we are going to do with Claire, to ensure her safety.
After doing some reading up on car seat brands, we decided to go with a Britax. We chose the B-Safe model. They also have a Chaperone model, but it's much larger and heavier than the B-Safe. If you want to skip the infant seat, you can purchase a convertible car seat, which will fit your child up to 70 pounds (depending on the model), opposed to the 30 pound limitation on the infant seats above. Although it makes more sense economically, I find it comforting to know that if Claire falls asleep in the car, she can continue her slumber once we arrive at our destination.
Now, onto safety. You know that you need to keep your baby rear facing while in the infant seat, but did you know how incredibly unsafe it is to turn them around once they outgrow it. Even when your little one is big enough for a convertible seat, they should continue to be rear facing until they are too big for their car seat (as described in the above chart taken from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration).
Here's a video that shows the difference between rear-facing and forward-facing car seats.
and one to tug at your heartstrings.
Here are some other tidbits regarding car seats :)
Now go read up and educate yourself about your baby's/child's safety!
This blog has a great post about safety.
And this one too!

Carseats in Grocery Cart Seats
I came across this today and felt the need to share it with all of you ladies who are gearing up for your first baby. Please take the time to read it. I never really thought twice about placing an infant car seat one the shopping cart. You know the place where older toddlers sit, rather where I set my purse, eggs, bread and other delicate purchases. It seems like everyone with a baby at the supermarket does it and I just assumed it was safe. Thinking about it now, I probably would have done it too. Thanks to the courage of this woman, a mom who learned a very valuable lesson the hard way, I know that it's not safe to position my baby's infant seat there. I will not be putting Claire's seat on the shopping cart.
