My Valentine

Valentine's Day is usually just another day in our house. We don't typically get each other over-the-top, mooshy-gooshy gifts. We do however, give each other a sweet card and usually go out for a nice dinner. Well this year will be a little different. There still won't be any gift exchanges and we most likely won't go for dinner. But, this year involves something so much better... and that's our little Valentine! She, on the other hand, will be given a couple gifts to celebrate this lovey-dovey holiday! I ordered her 3 new books (of course!) They are:

In preparation of the arrival of my Photoshop software & reflector I thought it would be fun to do a photoshoot with Claire (sans 'equipment'). Not to mention she's 17 weeks old today!! She's been so much fun to photograph these past few weeks due to her new abilities- sitting in her bumbo (by herself), pushig herself up while on her tummy, and munchin' on her tootsies!

While I realize these are not perfect, they are a stepping stone to better images that are to come. I try not to pass the blame, but I really think my camera needs calibrated because the photos aren't coming out as sharp as I think they should- focus is rather blurry instead. Oh well! One day I'll buy a new camera, but for now the one I have will suffice. Also, I'm {clearly} not a pro but added the "eah photography" watermark for safety reasons :)

She was getting tired so she's not very excited or smiley, but this mood is just as fun to capture. Here is Claire in all her drooly glory! Teethe much baby girl?

I love this little girl so much!

She's been growing like a wild monster! I tell her she's a wild woman, a wonderfully wild woman! In the past week and a half, she started playing with toys, found her feet, and started chewing on her toes! I'm blown away and I'm so in love!

Aside from all the baby talk and natural birth schpeels, I do have other things that happen in my life- GO FIGURE! :)

I'm a pretty simple lady. For the most part, it doesn't take much to please me. As long as there's no cheese on my pizza, you can bet I'm a pretty happy camper! The one thing I wanted to do this summer was to make a trip to the zoo.

The Pittsburgh Zoo is absolutely to.die.for. but it's also about 3.5-4 hours away. Being pregnant doesn't really mesh well with super long car rides. So we decided we would make the shorter trip to the Erie Zoo.It's not a big zoo, by any stretch of the imagination, but it had a giraffe, and that's all that mattered to me (told you it doesn't take much to please me)!

I took most of the photos but Matt ended up carrying my camera because my lens was too heavy for me to lug around in the heat (he's def. getting better with the camera- I've got some competition!). I'm so glad he had the camera because the giraffe ended up moving really close to him and stuck his head outside of the fence while I was relaxing on a bench... SCORE!
